Julia O'Connell

Julia Theresa O'Connell was daughter to Terence O'Connell and Margaret McConnell. She was born at Burrendong in 1863 and her name was recorded as Theresa Edith O'Connell however she grew up being called Julia and not knowing any different. When her birth record was required for marriage purposes she had to sign a document explaining the discrepancy. This was accepted.

Julia's middle name is spelled Teresa in some records. Julia married John Michael O'Brien on 18 January 1890 at "Goodiman". The couple were married in "the residence of the bride Goodiman" according to the rites of the Catholic Church. Curiously, the usual state of residence for both parties was listed as "Goodiman". Witnesses to the wedding were the groom's brother, William Roberts O'Brien and the bride's 19 year old niece, Maggie Isabella Payne.
