ALBERT EDWARD SOUTER

1925 - CHEMIST'S WIFE WANTS SEPARATION; CRUELTY ALLEGED

Olive Grace Souter, a young woman, petitioned the Judge in Divorce (Mr. Justice Owen) to-day for a decree for judicial separation against Albert Edward Souter, chemist, of Gulgong. She alleged cruelty against her husband. He denied it.
Mrs. Souter, in answer to Mr. Toose, said she was the daughter of a farmer. The marriage took place at Sydney on October 4, 1924. She left her husband on February 21 this year. During the period she lived with him he had given her very little money. On the day of the wedding he appeared most anxious to get away to be present at the first race.
Proceeding.
Mr. Toose (instructed by Mr. W. P. Kelly, of Wellington, by his Sydney agent, Mr. L. W. McDonald), appeared for Mrs. Souter, and Mr. Neville McWilliam (instructed by Mr. D. E. S. Kennedy) for the husband.
