GORRINGE

Ernest John Gorringe, known as Jack, was a builder. The family had a dairy on the outskirts of Gulgong heading towards Mudgee. He married Alice May Gorringe (nee) Wiess. Their children included:
  • James Gorringe
  • Dorothy - married Cliff Riley.
Family members played instruments in the Gulgong Salvation Army Band.

At St Luke's Church of England, Gulgong, on Dec. 18 Miss Alice M. Weis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Weis, of Gulgong, was married to Mr. Ernest John Gorringe, of Gulgong, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Gorringe. The Rev. L. V. Caldwell officiated.

Three pupils of the Salvation Army Sunday school—Thelma Gorringe, Fred Gorringe and Edna Gorringe — were presented with badges for having attended Sunday school, for five years without being once late or absent.
