The report of a sad accident has reached us from Gulgong. Mrs. Hardy, of the Home Rule Hotel, had her hand, arm, face, and most of the upper part of her body burned through the bursting of a kerosene lamp. She is reported as being in a very precarious state.

We hear that the Home Rule hotel, so long occupied by the late Mr. John Wells, is now on the market for prompt cash sale. This hotel does a good business, and offers a capital chance to an energetic man.

A Maori named Paul was sentenced to two months in Mudgee gaol this week by the Gulgong bench for refusing to pay for drinks at the Home Rule hotel and for using obscene language.
