1920 - Death of Mrs Joseph Inder. ANOTHER IDENTITY GONE.
The death took place at Dunedoo on Sunday afternoon of Mrs. Joseph Inder, relict of the late Joseph Inder, who died some nine months ago. Deceased, who had reache her seventy-third year, had been in very ill-health for about eighteen months, and during the past few weeks had been very low. Consequently her death was not unexpected.
The late Mrs. Joseph Inder was one of the oldest identities of the district. She resided at Cobbora for many years, where her late husband farmed. She had a most lovable character. She was a devoted mother, and reared a large family, who are a credit to her, a number of them being well known and highly respected residents of the Dunedoo district.
Born in the Mudgee district, in 1847, the deceased went to reside at Cobbora in 1869, her husband then being manager of the Cobbora estate, at that time owned by Mr. Rouse. Later the late Mr. Inder farmed on his own account with considerable success.
The deceased lady was a daughter of the late William Whitton, of the Mudgee district. She left a family of two sons and six daughters, namely: Alfred (Tucklan), William (Dunedoo), Mrs. R. Monk (Mendooran), Mrs. E. Yeo (Elong), Mrs. J. Monk (Mendooran), Mrs. K. Johnson (Sandy Creek), Mrs. C. Monk (Collie), and Mrs. Cockle (Dunedoo). She also left three brothers: John (Dunedoo), William (Dubbo), and Thomas (Sydney).
The funeral took place on Monday afternoon, and was largely attended. The remains were at first taken to the Union Church, Dunedoo, where service was conducted by the Rev. W. Hotson. The body was later laid to rest at the Cobbora cemetery, beside that of Mrs. Inder's late husband and other members of the family.
After the usual service had been read, the Rev. W. Hotson spoke of the devotion as a mother and the splendid qualities of the deceased, who was, he said, loved by all who knew her. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. Thomas Alyward, of Dunedoo.

The news of the death of Mr. J. W. Inder, of Dunedoo, will be received with great regret. The deceased, who was only 45 years of age, was, until a few weeks ago, apparently in good health; but latterly he complained of not being too well. About a fortnight ago he was brought to Mudgee and admitted to a Mudgee Private Hospital for treatment. It was seen that his heart was in a bad state, and very faint hopes were held out for his recovery. He passed away on Thursday morning last.
Mr. Inder was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Inder, of Cobbora. Both his parents died only quite recently. He was born at Cobbora, and married Miss Alason Johnson, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Johnson, of "Allandale," Cobbora. Besides his widow he leaves three sons, the eldest being 19 years of age, and the youngest 12. He is also survived by the following brother and sisters: — Mr. Alfred Inder (Tucklan), and Mesdames James Monk (Mendooran), R. Monk (Mendooran), E. Yeo (Elong), and R. Johnson (Dapper). All his life the deceased was a farmer, and up to the time of his death was the owner of a very fine property near Dunedoo.
He was highly respected and esteemed by all the people at Dunedoo, Tucklan, Cobbora, Mendooran, Gulgong, and adjoining districts. To know him was to honor and respect him for his many good qualities. The remains were interred in the Church of England section of the Dunedoo cemetery on Saturday. The Rev. W. Hotston officiated at the graveside.
