BACKGROUND
The cordial factory on Tallawang Rd had three consecutive owners: BRIGDEN then CAMPBELLS then PHILLIPS.
Roland and Ivy Campbell owned the ex A J Brigden cordial factory. Herb Cross and Rowley ___ made the drinks. Rowley's son, Robert McGee stuck the labels on. At different times Col and Russell did deliveries to Dunedoo. Coolah. Leadville. Birrawa. Mudgee.
Herb Cross was Ivy’s brother. His wife Rene was Roley’s sister (Brother and sister married brother and sister.) They worked together most of their working life. Originally having a dairy hand milking and delivering with horse and cart.

1921 - GULGONG JUBILEE SHOW
One of the most creditable displays was that shown Mr. Alf. Brigden. The display was a collection of cordials, etc., manufactured at the Gulgong cordial works. The display was given an extra merit by the splendid manner in which the bottles were corked and labelled.
