EMILY MADSEN

Emily Madsen nee Rosewarne

Emily Rosewarne was the youngest daughter of  Mr. William Rosewarne, of Cornwall, England. her mother was Mary Murphy. NB: Emily's name is recorded as Emilene in the birth record of her firstborn, Doreen.






Her siblings births and deaths were as follows:


Emily Rosewarne married Martin Joseph Madsen in Cowra in 1901.

She died aged 72, on 9 November 1944, at her home in Marrickville.

At Watervale, Woodstock, near Cowra, on July 3, Miss Emily Rosewarne, youngest daughter of the late Mr. William Rosewarne, of Cornwall, England, was married to Martin Joseph Madsen, eldest son of Mr. Julius Madsen, Fairview, Cowra. The Rev. D. O' Kennedy, of Cowra, officiated.

 MARRIED LIFE

Emily and Martin had four children: Doreen, Madeleine, Ella and Kevin. They lived at 6 Francis Street, Marrickville. After Martin's death in a car accident in 1928, Emily lived with her four children at 228 Marrickville Road. In her later years she lived with her daughter Doreen (and her son in law, Eugene O'Brien) at 26 David Street, Marrickville).

MADSEN.- November 9, 1944, at her residence, 26 David Street, Marrickville, Emily Madsen, relict of the late Martin Madsen and dearly loved mother of Doreen (Mrs. E. O'Brien), Madeleine (Mrs. C. O'Brien), Kevin, and Ella (deceased), aged 72 years. Requiescat in pace.
