BLUE GATE

Location of the "Blue Gate"

A 360-acre block of land at the corner of Spring Ridge Road and Upper Mebul Road was referred to as "the Blue Gate" in the 1970s. It was said that in the past a gate of blue colouring existed  in the location indicated. The name was used in a 1912 newspaper.

1912 - LETT'S CROSSING TO COBBORA.
A petition was received from Messrs. G. Shearman, D. Lett, W. Jones, and P. O'Connell, drawing attention to the bad state of the road from Mrs. Lett's crossing to the Blue Gate at Cobbora. The matter was referred to the Engineer for report.
