Foundation Day celebrations in Gulgong, in April 1993, included a re-enactment of bushrangers holding up the Cobb & Co Coach. Wendy Borchert and her daughter were passengers in the coach. The bushrangers and troopers in uniform (carrying shotguns), were an historical re-enactment group who came from near Newcastle.

There were Foundation Day celebrations held in 1991, 1992 and 1993. The organisers were founding members of the Gulgong Arts Council executive committee. The subcommittee, who organised the Foundation Day celebrations, were Judy Sykes, Richard Cross, Jules Sackville, Colin Seis and Wendy (Seis) Borchert.
