David Joseph King of Home Rule married Emily Henrietta nee Anderson in 1896 (Mudgee).
Emily, born in 1859, was the firstborn child of Peter Anderson (1834-1902) who married Mary Ann Hutchinson in Mudgee in 1857. They went on to have another 9 children after Emily.

Emily Henrietta King with daughter Clara and Albert
Emily was a midwife who travelled by horse and cart to help deliver babies. Flooded creeks, rain and hail couldn't stop her. She died in 1946.
1927 - DAVID KING.The death occurred at Home Rule recently, of Mr David King, goldminer, at the age of 77 years. Deceased was a native of North Sydney. The remains were interred at the Church of England portion the cemetery, Rev. L. V. Caldwell officiating. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. R. S. Bayliss. A large family is left to mourn their loss, to whom our sympathy is extended.
1947 - GRAND OLD LADY - Passing of Mrs. King
One of the grandest old ladies of the district, in the person of Mrs. Emily King, died at Gulgong on December 11th, full of years and honor.Born in Mudgee 87 years ago, and resided at Home Rule for the greater part of her life. In the hardy pioneering days she was one of the outstanding figures, and her skill as a nurse was only rivalled by her great goodness of heart.She went into the homes of the people of all classes and creeds, and her wonderful kindness and sympathy won for her the affection, of everyone. Never did she leave a call for aid unanswered and her gracious deeds will forever be remembered by those who shared in her bounty. Her husband pre-deceased her by 19 years, and she is survived by a family of eight, 50 grandchildren, 80 great grand-children, and two great-great-grandchildren, and to the sorrowing ones universal sympathy is extended.

David and Emily's daughter, Roberta Ivy King, married Ernest Albert Allan, a rabbiter and miner, in Gulgong in 1916. They lived at Black Lead, Gulgong. Their children were:

- Orance (Bob) Allan - born 14 Nov 1919 - married Joan Lee
- Kevin Allan - born 6 Aug 1921 - married Mary Weatherly
- Enid (Merle) - born 25 May 1923 - married Val Gordon Honeysett. Later married Noel Chalker.
