1933 - MR R. T. SIMCOE
Mr Robert Thomas Simcoe, aged 71 years, who passed away in the Gulgong District Hospital on Monday morning last, was a native of Forbes. He had been a resident of the Gulgong and Coolah districts for many years past.
The late Mr Simcoe was a much travelled man. In his young days he resided in England and Italy, and had also been in various parts of this State, including the North West. He was an interpreter in Italy.
He first came to Gulgong in its earliest days and naturally became a little interested in mining. Deceased was a bricklayer by trade.
He had been in the Gulgong Hospital for a week and on Saturday last (a few days after his discharge) was brought back and collapsed on Sunday.
The following family is left to mourn: Mesdames Mark Falconer (Sandy Creek), E. Rohr (Coolah), Messrs Robert Simcoe (Sandy Creek), Arthur Simcoe (Turrawong, Boggabri), Ernest Simcoe (Yeoval), Hilton Simcoe (Burringbar) and Jack Simcoe (Burringbar).
The funeral took place to the Catholic portion of the Gulgong ceremony on Tuesday morning last, the Rev. Father Crowe officiating. Our sympathy is extended.
