The Company possess seventeen and a-half acres of ground, on Lease, situated on the Royal George Reef, near Green Swamp, about nine miles from Gulgong, and they offer part of their interest to the public for the purpose of obtaining sufficient capital to fully develope the rich auriferous quartz reefs in the ground, and to purchase first-class quartz-crushing machinery.
A large amount of work has been done in prospecting the reefs in the ground. There are five distinct reefs running through the lease, and the ground is full of rich auriferous quartz veins; trial crushings have been made of quartz taken from the surface, and at various levels of the reefs to a depth of sixty feet, giving most satisfactory returns, which proves beyond doubt that the reefs in this ground are highly auriferous, and increase in richness, from the surface downwards, and that when opened to a greater depth by putting down main shafts, and fully developed by the application of more capital, this will prove one of the best payable mines in the colony.
