1910 - TRUCKING YARDS AT TALLEWANG.
The following letter has been received by Messrs. R. Jones and H. E. Horne, M's.L.A., from the Chief Commissioner for Railways:— Gentlemen, — Referring to the petition signed by Messrs. S. B. Rouse, Conrad Stoll, W. Lincoln and others, forwarded under cover of your endorsement of November 5, 1909, asking for the provision of trucking yards at Tallewang, on the Gulgong-Dunedoo Railway Extension, I have the honor to inform you that this matter has received inquiry. From this, it appears that only one truck of sheep from the direction of Tallewang, has been despatched from Gulgong since the latter station was opened in April last. It does not appear, therefore, that there would be sufficient traffic to justify the provision of the trucking yards, but the matter will be watched, and if it is found that trucking facilities are required, small hurdle yards, with a portable race on the wool dump could be supplied.

1919 - Death of Mr. Conrad Stoll.
Mr Johann Conrad Heinrich Stoll, a very old and highly respected resident, died at Gulgong. He was 85 years of age, and a native of the old Free City of Hamburg. Later he took up land at Tallewang, on which he lived up to the time of his death. He was a great lover of Australia, Mr. Stoll leaves besides a wife two daughters (Mrs. Arthur Croft, and Mrs. Ernie Saunders, of Gulgong) and nine grandchildren.

1927 - Deaths at Gulgong - MRS. JANE STOLL.
Another old district identity passed away on February 18, in the person of Mrs. Jane Stoll, relict of the late J. C. H. Stoll, of Tallewang. Mrs. Stoll was the third daughter of the late Mr. Hugh Dougherty, and came from a family of noted pioneers. She was born at Burrundulla, Mudgee, on August 29, 1852. Her father farmed what is now known as Smith's farm, and is believed to be the first lessee of that now historic spot of land. Later on Mr. Dougherty moved to Tallewang with his family, selected land in the then wild bush, and raised a large family. Mrs Stoll married early in life, and resided in the district until a few years back, when she purchased a residence in Marrickville, where she lived until her demise. She leaves two daughters — Mrs. Isabella Saunders, of Marrickville, and Mrs. A. Croft, of "Belambi," Gulgong. A few days prior to her death she caught a cold, developed broncho-pneumonia, and passed away in a few hours, despite the efforts of a skilful doctor and a trained nurse.
Her remains were brought on to Gulgong, where she was laid beside her life's partner in the local cemetery. The Rev. L. V. Caldwell officiated in the Church and at the graveside. Among those present were Mr. R. Dougherty (brother, aged 81), of Leadville; and Mrs. Annie Lund (sister, aged 79) of Tallewang.
