Charlotte Bursill (daughter of William Bursill and Hannah Smith) was born 26 May 1839* (NSW BDM 4190/1839 V18394190 45B and NSW BDM 923/1839 V1839923 47) - birth registerered "Presbyterian, Wollongong". *NB: Her headstone lists her birth year as 1837.

Edward Bayliss (son of Edward Thomas Bayliss and Matilda Jane (Rollinson) was born 3 Dec 1828 at Richmond.

Charlotte Bursill married Edward Bayliss in Rylstone in 1859 (NSW BDM 2877/1859). Their children included:

• RUTH - born 1858 (NSW BDM 12016/1858) RYLSTONE (born out of wedlock to unknown father)
• GERTRUDE - born 1860 (NSW BDM 6149/1860) - CAMPBELLTOWN
• SARAH JANE - born 1861 (NSW BDM born 12735/1861) at Peel River (RYLSTONE); died aged 6 on 29 Aug 1873 from "diptheria".
• GEORGE EDWARD - born 1862 (NSW BDM 13352/1862) - RYLSTONE; died aged 11 on 19 Aug 1873 from "tracheitis".
• HENRY B - born 1864 (NSW BDM 14545/1864) - RYLSTONE
• ELIZABETH AMY - born 1865 (NSW BDM 11837/1865) - MURRURUNDI; died aged 7 on 30 Aug 1873 from "diptheria".
• SARAH J - born 1867  (NSW BDM 16465/1867) - TAMWORTH
• RACHEL - born 1869  (NSW BDM 18416/1869) - TAMWORTH
• FRANCIS J - born 1871 (NSW BDM 17912/1871) - TAMWORTH
• JOSEPH EDWARD RICHARD - born 1874 (NSW BDM 14678/1874) - GULGONG
