1920 - Wedding. EDMUNDS— CARLISLE
On Saturday June 26, the Presbyterian Church, Ulan, was the scene of a very pretty wedding. The contracting parties were Mr. James Edmunds, of Dapper, and Miss Grace Carlisle, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Carlisle, of East Lynne, Ulan. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. G. M. Beasley. The church had been tastefully decorated by the bride's girl friends. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a gown of ivory silk, nicely trimmed with silk fringe and pearls. She wore the customary wreath and veil, and carried a bouquet of white lillies and ferns. Miss Thelma Carlisle (sister of the bride) was bridesmaid. She wore a pretty frock of pale pink crystaline, with hat to match. She also carried a bouquet of white flowers and ferns. Mr. Jack Diehm acted as best man. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a handsome gold brooch, and to the bridesmaid a gold bangle. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a set of gold sleeve links. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride's uncle where a large number of relatives and friends assembled. The presents were numerous and xxxx and included several cheques(?). After the reception Mr. and Mrs. Edmunds left per car, for Mudgee, where the honeymoon was spent. The bride travelled in a navy serge costume, with hat to match. Mr. and Mrs. Edmunds first home will be at Dapper.
