1873 - SUDDEN DEATH.
On Wednesday evening last a man named James Daly dropped dead whilst in the act of removing the lamps from a coach at the rear of the Prince of Wales Hotel [Home Rule]. On the following day a post-mortem examination was made by Dr. Lewis, assisted by Mr, Dale, and an inquest held before T. A. Browne, Esq., coroner.
From the evidence of Dr. Lewis it appeared that he had known deceased in America some years ago, and that then and subsequently he had proscribed for him and that he was suffering from disease of the chest, the cause of death was the bursting of one or two of the pulmonary arteries. The jury retnrned a verdict that death occurred from natural causes. Deceased had no friends in the colony.
