Clear bright days and cold nights with light frosts in parts of the district, is the prevailing weather. The want of rain is being keenly felt.
Ploughing operations that were commenced after the March rains have in most cases been suspended, awaiting a further fall, and altogether the pastoral as well as the agricultural outlook for the winter is by no means reassuring.
