WINTER

1919 - Death. MR. JOHN WINTER.
The death occurred at the Sydney Hotel, Mudgee, last night, shortly after 5 o'clock, of Mr. John Winter, aged 78, the cause of death being general break up. The deceased was born at Adelaide (S.A.), and came to the Mudgee district about 40 years ago, and went in for farming pursuits, which he carried on until some years ago, when he went to Nulla Mountain to reside with his son, Mr. Ernest Winter.
The late Mr. Winter had been ailing for some time. His wife predeceased him about five years.
The deceased is survived by his son, Mr. Ernest Winter (Nullo Mountain), and the following stepchildren: Mr. Sidney Norris (Green Swamp), Mrs. James Niven (Spring Ridge), Mrs. George Tapper (Mudgee), and Mrs. C. Grady (Mudgee).
The remains will be laid to rest in the Roman Catholic portion of the general cemetery to-morrow afternoon. The Very Rev. Father Flanagan will officiate at the graveside and Mr. H. Barton has charge of the funeral arrangements. The deceased was a very fine man, and was highly respected and esteemed by all who knew him. He was everybody's friend, and much sympathy is expressed throughout the Mudgee and adjoining districts for the bereaved.
