1875 - [BURGLARIES]
On Wednesday night last, the store of Mr Garbode, Tobacconist, in Herbert Street was entered by some burglar and 5 pounds in silver and two white shirts were stolen. No clue to the depredator has yet been found. It appears the bolts of the door were wrenched out and the entrance effected. Mr Garbode was absent at the time. This shows that people who have valuables should pay particular attention to their safety.
