Thomas and Elizabeth departed England from Plymouth 24 July 1848 aboard the ‘Emperor’. Thomas was an assisted agricultural labourer. They travelled with their three oldest sons (Cornelius aged 10, Thomas aged 7, Joseph aged 5) and arrived in Sydney Australia on 4 Nov 1848. The family later moved to Lue, Mudgee and Gulgong.
