1912 - Gulgong Resident. Mrs. Ellen Wade. [nee Spradford]
We have to chronicle the death of another old and respected resident, in the person of Mrs. Ellen Wade, wife of Mr. Thomas Wade [Jnr], of this town. The sad occurrence took place on Wednesday last. The deceased lady, who had lived all her life in and around Gulgong, had been suffering for some considerable time, and a relapse of asthma and heart trouble brought about the end. The late Mrs. Wade was 65 years of age at the time of her death, and leaves behind a sorrowing husband, five sons — William, Thomas, David, Alfred, and Ernest — and one daughter — Mrs. J. Stein— all of Gulgong, for whom much sympathy is felt. The funeral, which took place on Thursday, very largely attended by relatives and the many friends in the town and outlying districts.
The Ven. Archdeacon Geer performed the last sad rites at the graveside. Mr. G. Dando had charge of the mortuary arrangements. We ex- tend our sympathy to the sorrowing relatives and friends.
